Collect and report on data concerning instrument distribution, loss and replacement. Manage staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. May perform and oversee processes such as scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student engagement.
Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, vendor relations, and quality and process compliance of all sterilization activities throughout the health system.
Monitor quality and process compliance of all sterilization activities.
Establish and maintain sterilization, safety and security standards, policies and procedures for Sterile Processing Department to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
May travel as needed.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Associates hired or transferred into the role after 12/26/21 must be credentialed as a Central Service Tech through Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM).
3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Sterile Processing Department Manager or Director with greater than 3 years experience. Level 1 or 2 trauma hospital experience with 18 or greater OR's preferred.
