OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION
The primary focus for our Executive Directorposition is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the nursing home in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility and as may be directed by the Vice President, Operations CESLC, to assure that the highest degree of quality care and financial performance is attained.

This is a FULL TIME EXEMPT position.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Administer, direct and coordinate all of the functions of the nursing home departments including but not limited to nursing, recreation therapy, admissions, therapy, social work, volunteers, and utilization review in keeping with the overall policies and directives established by the Board of Governors and the Vice President, Operations CESLC.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures to the Vice President, Operations CESLC.
  • Interpret and administer approved objectives and established policies set by the Board of Governors and the Hebrew Home.
  • Develop and implement objectives to support and achieve the Home’s operational and strategic goals.
  • Provide required notice of any facility/unit closure to all appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Promote favorable public relations by representation and involvement in state and local long-term care associations, consumer groups, and related government regulatory agencies and groups.
  • Prepare reports and attend meetings of the Board of Governors, board committees, and other entities as requested. Orient board members as assigned.
  • Direct, develop, and implement policies and procedures to maximize bed utilization and oversee marketing of facility to achieve census objectives.
  • Review and evaluate existing policies, procedures and work methods. Oversee the development of improved work methods and procedures in order to achieve directives.
  • Establish quality standards with department directors and monitor and improve the quality of care through the facilities’ performance improvement processes. Facilitate, develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance overall quality of care and drive service excellence within the facility.
  • Serve as a role model for superior customer service and facilitate ongoing development of person centered environment within the organization. Establish and maintain a strategy to successfully address customer concerns and improve the level of customer satisfaction with the care and services provided.
  • In coordination with VP, Campus Services and others as appropriate, administer the fulfillment of contracted services including food, pharmacy, waste management, extermination, x-ray, lab, managed care, etc. Direct system and process to monitor quality of services and negotiate new contracts as necessary.
  • Achieve strong financial performance from departments by monitoring budgets, managing resources effectively and efficiently, maximizing occupancy, generating new revenue, and containing costs. Adhere to approved annual budgets.
  • Develop and prepare, in conjunction with accounting, the annual budget for nursing home operations.
  • Monitor fiscal accountability of the facility providing cost/expense variance data to the Vice President, Operations CESLC, with recommendations for improvements as necessary.
  • Identify, in conjunction with accounting, opportunities for revenue enhancement and expense reduction.
  • Keep abreast of economic conditions/situations, and recommend to the Vice President, Operations CESLC adjustments in services that ensure the continued competitiveness in the market place.
  • Participate in the planning and development of new services to residents, the extension of services beyond the immediate setting, and determining appropriate resources necessary for such services.
  • Assist with the planning, development and implementation of organization-wide policies and practices for the seamless movement of residents across the organization’s continuum of services from independent living though assisted living to skilled nursing.
  • Identify key community agencies in the aging field. Develop cooperative relationships with appropriate agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all nursing home regulations/requirements.
  • Perform similar and related duties as assigned by the Vice President, Operations CESLC.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • REQUIRED: minimum, five years of experience as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
  • Experience in a 150+ bed facility preferred.
