Job Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Position Overview: My client is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join the executive team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, optimizing business processes, and spearheading growth initiatives to ensure the company's continued success in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Leadership:
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for all operational activities, ensuring alignment with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Streamline processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability across all business units.
  • Implement best practices and performance metrics to monitor and improve operational performance.
  1. Business Development and Growth:
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute growth strategies that expand the company's market presence and drive revenue growth.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and potential acquisitions to support long-term growth objectives.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry associations, to enhance the company's reputation and market position.
  1. Financial Management:
  • Work closely with the CFO to develop and manage annual operating budgets, capital expenditure plans, and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance against targets, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Build and lead a high-performing operational team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement to drive employee engagement and retention.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to create a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, drive operational excellence, and achieve results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and ethical business practices.

Location: New Jersey, with occasional travel to other company locations as needed.
