As the Production Planner you are responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize workflow and reduce waste. They also work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure customer needs are met and orders are fulfilled promptly. The role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to effectively manage and motivate teams.
Responsibilities:- Assisting production supervisors and managers in scheduling and coordinating manufacturing activities to meet production targets
- Ensuring materials and supplies are available for production by coordinating with purchasing and inventory departments
- Tracking production costs and identifying areas for improvements in efficiency and cost reduction
- Coordinating with maintenance and repair teams to ensure equipment is in good working order to minimize downtime
- Arranging for training and development of production staff to enhance skill levels and productivity
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for production employees
- Managing documentation and records of production activities for future reference and analysis
- Collaborating with quality assurance team members to ensure finished products meet defined specifications and standards
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and recommending process improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality
- Any other job assigned by Supervisor
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a similar position such as a production supervisor or lead
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge or experience with specific software programs used in manufacturing
