Job Title: Production Planner

At Simmons Equipment Company, we are committed to delivering high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers. We are seeking a skilled Production Planner to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Production Planner will be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize workflow and reduce waste. They will work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure customer needs are met and orders are fulfilled promptly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist production supervisors and managers in scheduling and coordinating manufacturing activities to meet production targets
  • Ensure materials and supplies are available for production by coordinating with purchasing and inventory departments
  • Track production costs and identify areas for improvements in efficiency and cost reduction
  • Coordinate with maintenance and repair teams to ensure equipment is in good working order to minimize downtime
  • Arrange for training and development of production staff to enhance skill levels and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for production employees
  • Manage documentation and records of production activities for future reference and analysis
  • Collaborate with quality assurance team members to ensure finished products meet defined specifications and standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a similar position such as a production supervisor or lead
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge or experience with specific software programs used in manufacturing
