Description

Manages and coordinates the activities and operation of the information security department and staff; oversees the planning and execution of security projects to protect the confidentiality and integrity of information and maintain the technical facilities that aid in this protection for Karpel Solutions and their Managed Security Service clients.

Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages, develops, and implements global security policies and practices that encompass Internet sites, application services, and WAN security.
  • Provide strategic risk guidance and consultation for corporate/client IT projects, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical standards and controls.
  • Design and develop an information security program roadmap to align and scale with client and company growth.
  • Establish and implement a process for incident management to effectively identify, respond, contain and communicate a suspected or confirmed incident.
  • Develops, tests, and maintains disaster recovery plans for IT systems.
  • Lead compliance activities including external audits, regulatory compliance projects, threat hunting, forensics, and overall information security reviews.
  • Performs independent testing to verify compliance with security specifications and prepares necessary compliance documents to support certification.
  • Leads the development and implementation of security training and awareness programs to educate employees about information security solutions and their requirements.
  • Maintains currency in information security technology through both formal and informal training.
  • Assists with development and management of information security budget.
  • Assists with development and implementation of department policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent.
  • Completed or in the process of completing CISSP certification.
  • Four to six years related experience or equivalent.
  • Mastery of information security technologies and products and their practical applications.
  • Familiarity with industry security standards including NIST, ISO, SANS, COBIT, and CERT.
  • Significant experience with business management and a working knowledge of information security risk management and cybersecurity technologies and strategy.
  • Working knowledge of computer operating systems and networking technologies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
