RN Unit Manager*
*SIGN-ON BONUS: *up to $7,500
*SHIFT: *Full-Time Days , 8am - 4:30pm, (37.Weekends and Evenings needed as operationally necessary*
*Flexible Schedules
* The Unit Manager oversees our subacute and long-term care units, assesses residents, and supports/directs staff as needed. Unit managers are responsible for managing the nursing unit. They primarily supervise the daily care of patients and ensure quality patient care.
*Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to the adult and geriatric population in the planning and delivery of care
* Demonstrates knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs: therapeutic, neuro and dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease, wound care, end of life care, if applicable
* Assures completion of a comprehensive nursing evaluation of a resident’s physical, emotional and mental status upon admission/re-admission and when indicated, as well as, appropriate follow-up as indicated by the evaluation.
* Acting as the main point of contact between residents and their families
* Assists in developing, implementing, and making adjustments to patient care plans as needed
* Supervises the staff nurses, nursing rehab assistants, certified nursing assistants, unit clerks (if applicable), and completes annual and probationary evaluations of same
* Ensures their unit meets federal and state regulatory standards, as well as company policies and procedures
* Collaborates with the Director of Nursing, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians to plan and maintain resident care
* Oversees and audits changes made to care plans
* Delivers hands-on care and medicine distribution as needed
*New York State Registered Nursing License*
* *Minimum:* 1-year experience as an RN in a long-term care setting
* *Preferred:* 3-5 years as an RN in a long-term care setting with supervisory experience
* *Education: Minimum: *Associates Degree *Preferred: *Bachelor Degree
*Displays optimism fostering a spirit of teamwork, positive attitude and conflict resolution among co-workers. Interacts positively with residents, family members and visitors in all circumstances.
* Excellent Communication Skills, coordinating activities in conjunction with other departments to ensure residents feel safe and empowered. Interacts positively with family members, updating them on how resident is doing.
* Provides direction to visitors, staff, volunteers and external populations
* Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
