Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The SVP, Data Engineering and Product Development is a visionary and an accomplished leader with over 10 years of experience in data engineering, product management, and delivering high-value data products and services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving innovation, optimizing data architecture, and leading cross-functional teams to develop products that meet market needs. This role requires an exceptional balance of technical depth, business acumen, and strategic thinking.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Data Engineering Leadership: Forge the future of data engineering practices and standards within the company, fostering innovation and modernization.
  • Product Development Strategy: Define and lead the product development strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals and customer demands.
  • Talent Management: Collaborate with Human Resources to attract, develop, and retain top data engineering talent.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the engineering of high-quality data products with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
  • Data Engineering Leadership: Forge the future of data engineering practices and standards within the company, fostering innovation and modernization.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Architect and implement state-of-the-art data pipelines and infrastructure supporting large-scale data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Spearhead the creation and launch of market-leading data products, facilitating data-driven decision-making for clients.
  • Lead the technology direction, ensuring products are compliant with industry standards and the latest in data privacy regulations.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and agile methodologies within product and data engineering teams.
  • Engage with stakeholders to translate business needs into robust and scalable technology solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering a learning environment for professional growth.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.

Bachelor’s or master’s degreeComputer Science or related fieldPreferred

EXPERIENCE:

10+ yearsData Engineering & Product Dev

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • In-depth understanding of healthcare data ecosystems, including extensive experience with claims data, electronic health records (EHR), and clinical data sets.
  • Proficiency in handling, transforming, and analyzing large-scale healthcare data assets while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Expertise in applying data governance and data quality standards specific to healthcare data to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Advanced skills in utilizing healthcare analytics platforms and tools for data analysis, visualization, and reporting to support decision-making processes.
  • Capability to innovate and implement cutting-edge solutions in healthcare analytics, including the use of AI/ML for predictive analytics and personalized medicine.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of complex data projects in the healthcare sector, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Mastery of modern data processing technologies and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

SALARY

$200,000 to $275,000 annually

The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
