Base pay range $170,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr The Lead Electrical Engineer will oversee project execution, supervise daily engineering activities, and serve as a key interface with clients and internal leadership. This role is responsible for project scope, planning, budget, schedule, and overall technical quality. The engineer will develop and review electrical specifications, perform technical analyses and calculations, and resolve engineering and design challenges in alignment with industry and client standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily activities of the project execution team. Own project scope, quality, schedules, budgets, and overall execution planning. Identify and manage scope changes through formal change management processes. Specify electrical power distribution systems for industrial projects (120V–35kV). Support development of one‑line diagrams, data sheets, load lists, motor schematics, and hazardous area classifications, and drive engineering deliverables through design package issuance. Validate equipment ratings and perform electrical calculations including cable sizing and load evaluations. Specify electrical equipment from RFQ development through PO award; experience with FATs is a plus. Prepare competitive man‑hour estimates and support proposal development. Manage cost and time constraints across multiple concurrent projects. Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle. Adhere to company policies, the H+M Safety Manual, and OSHA regulations. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. 10+ years of engineering design and construction experience within petrochemical or related industries. Texas P.E. license preferred. Strong understanding of power system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, and arc flash analysis (ETAP and/or SKM PowerTools). Familiarity with industrial codes and standards: API, NEMA, IEEE, PIP, NEC. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and SmartPlant Electrical is advantageous. Proven problem‑solving abilities with a focus on quality and technical rigor. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to build credibility and trust. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and achieve project goals.
