Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric Otolaryngologist to join its growing team of experienced specialists in Hollywood, FL . This is an excellent opportunity to join a quaternary care regional referral center, serving the South Florida community, at a 216-bed freestanding childrens hospital.
Overview:
- The ideal candidate will have completed training from an ACGME-accredited program.
- Candidates with subspecialty interest in voice, swallowing, advanced airway, or craniofacial disorders is advantageous, but not required.
- The Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology is comprised of compassionate physicians and advanced practice providers who currently care for patients in three fully integrated office suites equipped with videostroboscopy/endoscopy, speech pathology, pediatric audiology, and a brand-new ambulatory surgery center.
- In addition, the Division has several established subspecialty programs including the Cochlear Implant Center, 22Q Multidisciplinary Clinic, and the Cleft and Craniofacial Center.
- This is a full-time employed position with the multi-specialty Memorial Physician Group.

About Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital
Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital is a 216 bed free-standing childrens hospital in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida located near Fort Lauderdale. The hospital recently underwent a 4-story vertical expansion to double the number of floors and continue to meet its commitment to providing the highest quality and safest care for children in the region. This expansion opened in November 2022 and includes a state-of-the-art Pediatric ICU, a new 20-bed cardiac ICU and step-down unit including new ORs with hybrid capabilities, three cath labs and an interventional radiology suite. The hospital also expanded its surgical capacity with an addition of other new rooms and an interoperative MRI.
Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital is one of six hospitals that are part of Memorial Healthcare System, the third largest public health system in the country. Memorial delivers nearly 14,000 babies per year in three hospitals and has 120 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) beds - both Level II and III services (the state of Florida is in the process of creating a separate designation for Level IV care, for which JDCH qualifies).
Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital (JDCH) has robust high-risk and congenital programs including a US News and World Report ranked pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery Program, one of only two active programs in the state that performs heart transplants. JDCHs Orthopedic and Sports Medicine program is also ranked by US News and World Report as the top pediatric orthopedic program in Florida four years in a row and is one of the largest programs in the southeastern United States. JDCH also has robust Neurosciences, Hematology/Oncology and other general and specialized surgical programs (approximately 10,000 surgeries per year), and the areas largest pediatric and neonatal transport team, which also does mobile ECMO. JDCH also houses the Center for Complex Care, which is a joint alliance with Boston Childrens Hospital.
JDCH serves over 375,000 children per year from around the state. Approximately 100,000 children are cared for in our three emergency rooms across the county per year. JDCHs services continue to grow with the opening of the new specialty center/ambulatory surgery center in Palm Beach County in 2018 and a new ambulatory pavilion in Miramar, near Miami-Dade County which will open in 2023.
JDCH offers resources for academic pursuits, spanning from clinical research to basic science investigation via affiliations with nearby universities and through its Pediatric Institute for Discovery and Innovation (PIDI). JDCH has an established pediatric residency program and relationships with other hospital providers and universities for various other clinical training programs.
