If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this could be a great opportunity for you The Department of County Management (DCM) Finance and Risk Management Division is seeking a Risk Management Technician to join its team. This position provides technical assistance to the Risk Management Services team, employees, management and the members of the public in the daily procedural and administration of the risk management programs. The Risk Management Services team provide guidance on risk exposure and loss control, manage the County’s insurance program, and administer the County’s self-insured programs in compliance with applicable laws and County code. Responsibilities Safety, Health and Worker's Compensation Program Support Schedule and conduct individual respiratory fit tests and training under the direction of the Industrial Hygienist Coordinate and perform noise monitoring, Hearing Conservation individual noise assessments and record keeping under the direction of the Industrial Hygienist Responsible for completing and posting the annual OSHA 300 logs under the direction of the Workers’ Compensation Program Manager and the Safety & Health Manager Responsible for completing the annual Bureau of Labor Statistics surveys utilizing the OSHA 300 logs and workers’ compensation claim information Perform quality assurance outreach with injured workers that utilize the telephonic 24/7 triage option Attend assigned safety committees as a consulting representative of Risk Management County General Liability Program Support Responsible for the county-wide Certificate of Insurance (COI) review for completeness, address any identified deficiencies, and electronically manage the insurance requirements within Multnomah Marketplace (MMP) supplier profiles Assists contract specialists with urgent MMP COI reviews when the usual COI review process is not feasible Responsible for ensuring contractor cancellation notices and renewals are received, shared, and managed according to internal purchasing rules and processes Manages shared insurance team mailbox to receive, process, and file certificates of insurance in shared vendor directory NAS storage location Receives and replies to medical malpractice credentialing requests by hiring agencies seeking to verify claims history and coverage verification of former employees County-wide Driver’s License Verification Management Independently administers assigned aspects of the County’s driver’s license verification processes Perform accuracy verification analysis on rosters of approved drivers Ensure continued access to OR DMV’s DMV2U business subscription service Collaborate with the Vehicle Accident Review committee and HR Business Partners to ensure individual driver eligibility based on internal policy and Oregon rule General Risk Management Program Support Internal contact for Risk Management information requests such as PERS, Unemployment, PECBA Records archive management Risk Management Information System (RMIS) administrator support Assist in Risk Management county-wide training initiatives Risk Management intranet page administration support Perform other duties as assigned Multnomah County Is a Diverse, Thriving Community With a Sustainable Future Where All Are Safe, Connected, And Empowered To Contribute. Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience; AND One (1) year of related work experience in risk management programs such as insurance, safety, worker compensation, general liability, driver’s license validation, or related program Preferred Qualifications/Transferable Skills One (1) year of related work experience in risk management programs such as insurance, safety, worker compensation, general liability, driver’s license validation, or related program Technical knowledge of OR-OSHA regulations Working knowledge of self insurance programs Working familiarity with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) Ability to effectively work with both internal and external partners in a collaborative environment Proactively identifies potential concerns and follows-up to resolve issues Demonstrates critical thinking skills and decision making abilities Ability to work independently on assigned processes and tasks in a timely manner Transferable skills: Your transferable skills are any skills you have gained through education, work experience (including the military) or life experience that are relevant for this position.
