Our client is a top waste and recycling company in NJ and this position will report directly to the Assistant Controller. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and complete financial records. Prepare and post journal entries to record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other related activities. Assist in the preparation of comprehensive financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies. Participate actively in month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations, accruals, and the preparation of supporting schedules. Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules, providing necessary documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in accounting and/or finance roles. Strong technical proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
