Line Of Business Finances Job Description The Senior Finance Analyst conducts a range of LOB related financial analysis and provides finance support to a Business Partner Finance area. Depth & Scope Subject Matter Expert (SME) with in‑depth knowledge of own domain and working knowledge of related areas. Researches and investigates a range of financial accounting, audit, operational, and reporting issues. Requires specialized and advanced technical/finance knowledge in own area. Coordinates/integrates work with other areas as needed. Supports projects with a medium to longer term focus. Performs advanced analysis requiring a strong grasp of financial accounting or related policies and procedures. Integrates broader organizational context into advice and solutions. Understands industry, competition, and differentiating factors for the organization. Applies best practices to implement process, product or service improvements. Acts as a subject‑matter expert and resource for others. Contributes to setting standards within area of expertise. Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, consulting multiple stakeholders. Impacts a range of functional programs and operations across own and related teams. Interprets guidelines, standards, policies and results to inform decision‑making at senior levels. Builds stakeholder alignment in leading projects; may provide process and subject‑matter advice at senior levels. Works independently as the senior technical lead, guiding others within area of expertise. Education & Experience Undergraduate degree 5+ years of relevant experience Accounting designation preferred Customer Accountabilities Conducts regular analysis, evaluation and review of business performance against reference points. Provides advice and guidance to Finance Management and business partners on finance, accounting, reporting, and operational processes. Applies understanding of business strategies to produce relevant data analysis and materials. Develops dashboards to illustrate business trends and identifies opportunities. Coordinates financial information needs among various parties (Finance Teams, stakeholders, regulators, auditors). Provides financial information, data and guidance on specialized procedures (e.g., tax, accounting principles, reconciliation, controls). Identifies variances and contributes to analysis and execution/implementation of initiatives, acquisitions or re‑structures. Collaborates with FinOps or specialized Finance teams to enhance operational activities such as report production, system queries and process mapping. Shareholder Accountabilities Adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies relevant to business area. Ensures business programs comply with internal and external requirements and align with priorities. Investigates data/analytics issues. Manages correspondence, information and confidentiality with discretion. Ensures operations comply with financial controls and regulatory requirements. Participates in cross‑functional initiatives to identify risk. Conducts research and supports presentations to management. Conducts meaningful analysis at functional or enterprise level. Monitors service, productivity and explores efficiency improvements. Supports remediation plans for performance and governance issues. Manages relationships across business lines and regulated functions. Keeps abreast of emerging regulatory requirements and trends. Maintains risk‑based management and control culture.
