About the Role Reporting to the System Executive Medical Director, Neurosciences , the Division Head of Neurosurgery will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across the continuum of inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care. You will collaborate with affiliate department chairs, medical directors, and administrative leaders to drive integration, innovation, and accountability across a system poised for transformation. This role will also shape the broader Neurosciences Service Line —which includes Neurology, Stroke, and PM&R—positioning Neurosurgery as a cornerstone of RRH’s regional care strategy. Neurosurgery at Rochester Regional Health RRH’s neurosurgery program spans multiple high‑volume campuses and is supported by cutting‑edge intraoperative and imaging technology, including Brainlab, O-arm, ROSA robotics, and LITT . The division performs more than 1,000 neurosurgical procedures annually , with expertise in cranial, spine, trauma, tumor, Chiari malformation, epilepsy, and neuro‑oncology cases. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership: Develop and guide a geographically and clinically integrated neurosurgery service line across all RRH affiliates. Strategic Direction: Set goals for program growth, recruitment and retention, and cross‑departmental collaboration. Quality & Patient Safety: Oversee performance metrics, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement initiatives. Education & Mentorship: Support resident and medical student education; champion ongoing professional development. Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws, credentialing standards, and institutional policies. Operational Partnership: Collaborate with nursing, finance, and operations to optimize workflows and resource allocation. Financial Stewardship: Partner with executive and operational leaders to guide budgeting and ensure fiscal sustainability.
