Hardware Engineer

Hardware Engineer Design schematics and PCBs for mixed-signal embedded control systems integrating microcontrollers, analog signal conditioning, protection circuits, and sensor interfaces. Select and qualify components for cost, reliability, and long-term availability. Perform board bring-up, functional testing, and design validation to ensure reliable field performance. Implement design practices for EMC, EMI, and safety compliance from concept through production.
Lead and support CE, UL, and FCC testing and certification efforts. Collaborate with third-party testing labs and ensure all documentation and technical files are complete.
Responsibilities
Design and develop schematics and PCBs for mixed-signal embedded control systems. Integrate microcontrollers, analog signal conditioning, protection circuits, and sensor interfaces. Select and qualify components for cost, reliability, and long-term availability. Perform board bring-up, functional testing, and design validation.
Ensure reliable field performance and implement design practices for EMC, EMI, and safety compliance. Lead and support CE, UL, and FCC testing and certification efforts. Collaborate with third-party testing labs, ensuring all documentation and technical files are complete. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience with hardware design for embedded systems.
Proficiency in embedded systems design.
Experience
with hardware design tools such as Altium and OrCAD.
Experience
with SCADA systems on Windows applications.
Experience
interfacing with manufacturing companies, hardware, electronics, analog, and digital systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge in hardware design, embedded systems, oil and gas, Altium, and testing. Work Environment This position will be based remotely in Texas with hybrid work arrangements into the Houston office. The engineer will work closely with an automation engineer currently on staff and collaborate with firmware/software teams.
The team consists of about four people in total. Additionally, the engineer will work with third parties to help execute work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
