As a Surgery Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting complex surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes, and providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a skilled team of physicians and support staff, contributing directly to life-saving surgeries and patient recovery.Key Skills and Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related specialty. Proficient in vein harvesting, suturing, and acting as a first assist during open heart procedures. Ability to manage pre-operative and post-operative surgical care effectively. Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Competency with Epic EMR system. Nice to Have Skills:Experience with advanced surgical techniques or minimally invasive procedures. Prior exposure to ER or ICU environments. Additional certifications such as ACLS or ATLS. Preferred Education and Experience:Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with active state licensure. At least two years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience. Other Requirements:Availability to work scheduled shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Ability to support extended hours and on-call responsibilities, including nights and weekends. Willingness to work in both outpatient and acute hospital settings. Coordination for travel and reimbursements as applicable.
