This pivotal role combines outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, working alongside experienced physicians in high-stakes environments. Required Skills: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Physician Assistant Proficiency in harvesting veins and assisting on all open-heart surgical cases Skilled in suturing and pre/post-operative surgical care Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 10 patients daily, including admissions, ICU patients, and surgical cases Experience working with EMR systems, preferably Epic Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work effectively in both outpatient and inpatient/acute care settings Availability to work a consistent schedule of 8 hours per shift, with potential overtime Nice to Have Skills: Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Prior experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related specialties Ability to perform vein harvesting independently Experience in emergency or trauma settings Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent Active PA licensure in the state of practice Past involvement in cardiothoracic or complex surgical procedures Other Requirements: Availability to work shifts from 06:00 to 14:00, Monday through Friday Ability to work at least 3 weeks per month for consistency Flexibility to support call responsibilities, including weekdays (5%) and weekends (75%), primarily ER call Ability to work extended hours and participate in on-call duties as needed Compliance with all institutional credentialing and certification requirements This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated healthcare team committed to delivering superior cardiac care.
