Req ID: Region: AmericasCountry: USAState/Province: New HampshireCity: Remote Employee US Summary Celestica is looking for a Software Architect focusing on SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability (RAS) capabilities. This position will be instrumental in defining and designing new features that enable the support organization to quickly triage, identify, and direct incoming product issues with the goal of resolving all inquiries within 24 hours. This role will also be responsible for investigating and designing methods, using Machine Learning, to predict potential future system failures and provide prioritized alerts to administrators. They will also define the RAS technical roadmap, ensure scalability, and integrate network software with underlying hardware (ASICs).

The Senior Staff Engineer, Software works in cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations. Detailed Description Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains. Participate in project planning and scheduling.

Define and drive the RAS architecture of network operating systems (NOS), for network switch platforms. Collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams and ASIC vendors (Broadcom, Marvell, Nvidia) to integrate SONiC with merchant silicon and optimize performance using the Switch Abstraction Interface (SAI). Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain features and enhancements for the SONiC NOS platform. Provide high-level architectural direction, mentor software engineers, and lead technical discussions across cross-functional teams (Product, QA, Hardware, Security).

Create and maintain technical documentation (high-level designs, architecture guides) and enforce coding standards for scalability, security, and interoperability. Actively participate in the SONiC open-source community, including upstream code contributions and staying current with industry trends in open networking. Represent Celestica’s technical leadership and engineering innovation with prospective and existing customers. Review and interpret customer specifications and may act as primary customer contact.

Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions. Develop deployment strategies and plans. Lead the deployment of strategic complex programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts. May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.

Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, users, project managers and other engineers including Peer-Reviews to achieve elegant solutions. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.

Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations. Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Project Management – Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions. Programming Languages – Proficient in C/C++, Python, and familiar with Linux Kernel and container environments (Docker, Kubernetes). Networking Expertise – Deep understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, TCP/IP, Ethernet) and network hardware architecture.

Product and network services reliability experience including knowledge of OAM protocols such as BFD and CFM, network discovery tools, such as LLDP, ICMP, and ARP, and network provisioning protocols such as DHCP and DNS. Architecture Expertise – Strong knowledge of enterprise and solution architecture methodologies, domain-driven design, and software design patterns. Problem‑Solving – Exceptional ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues in a fast‑paced environment. Leadership – Demonstrate "People & Team Leadership Behaviors" as per Celestica Leadership Imperatives.

Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
