Job Summary This position manages an assigned territory of core Foremost Independent Agencies, including responsibilities to prospect and appoint new agencies, drive profitable premium growth, and achieve financial and operational goals. The role develops and manages agency partnerships and serves as the primary relationship between the agency and the company, promoting and supporting the suite of Foremost products and services within the territory. It is an individual contributor who works independently with minimal guidance, managing business unit and enterprise impacts. Mentors or coaches less experienced team members but has no supervisory responsibilities. The position is remote with required weekly field travel. Essential Job Functions Owns and manages assigned territory to drive profitable growth, achieving financial and operational targets through tactical planning and agency management processes. Builds and cultivates mutually beneficial agency partnerships using a consultative sales framework, acting as a trusted advisor while delivering product, underwriting philosophy, appetite, and system training. Creates, maintains, and executes high‑quality agency strategies and plans, holding agents accountable to achieve written premium, profit, and new business goals. Collaborates with field distribution partners to align strategic and tactical components with key business strategies such as carrier consolidation and new product rollout support. Provides appetite and target market clarity, identifies and addresses profit or quality concerns to ensure profitability across the territory. Uses internal reporting and tools for the Independent Agent channel, including marketing, development, and production data analysis. Serves as a subject‑matter specialist, supporting internal business partners to identify opportunities and solve problems, and may mentor less experienced team members. Physical Actions Work performed in‑person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative location; may include field locations. Indoor, climate‑controlled environment with typical office distractions; field work may expose to weather elements. Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Uses fine motor tasks such as typing for full shifts; occasional bending, stooping, or reaching overhead. Requires adequate vision, hearing, and depth perception; regular travel between offices and field locations expected. Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Independent Agent Distribution Experience. Experience Requirements Minimum five years of field insurance sales and management experience with progressing responsibility.
