QA/QC Manager

Our client requires an Onshore Construction QA/QC manager to work on an exciting renewal energy project in Virginia Beach on a 12 month contract basis (with potential for contract to hire).


As a QA/QC Manager, your responsbilities will include:


  • Manage on-site Quality Programs for On-Shore Transmission during design, development, and construction phases, ensuring seamless interface with offshore package managers.
  • Support all project phases for each On-Shore Package, including coordinating between packages, ensuring on-site safety during construction, transportation, installation, and commissioning.
  • Monitor and report on the status of manufacturing and construction activities' quality.
  • Assist in managing project risks for onshore scopes.
  • Liaise with Transmission, Transportation, and Installation Project Manager, Interface Project Manager, and Commissioning Manager regarding work plans, schedules, and requirements for construction, installation, and commissioning.
  • Review and monitor manufacturing progress, providing accurate reporting to leadership.
  • Provide project team support, assisting in resolving technical, construction, commissioning, and warranty issues.
  • Coordinate closely with the Onshore Scheduling Team in reviewing, preparing, and coordinating detailed construction, manufacturing, transportation, installation, and commissioning schedules for onshore scope packages.


To be considered for this position, you will require:


  • Minimum of 7-years of experience in QA/QC Management / Construction Management / Project Management.
  • Minimum of 5-years of experience in Civil Construction.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of cast-in-place and precast concrete operations.
  • Knowledge of underground infrastructure activities, (for example, duct bank installations, underground piping systems, HDD/HDPE Piping systems, etc.).
  • Experience in onshore transmission networks and substation construction, and/or heavy industrial design and construction environments.
  • Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) as required.
  • Proficient with interpreting Quality Manuals/Programs, ITPs, technical drawings, specifications, codes, NCRs, schedules (P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, etc.) and management reports.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Degree in engineering (electrical/civil) preferred, but not required.
  • 9001 Certified preferred, but not required.
