Senior Software QA Engineer

Location: Austin, Texas or Boynton Beach, Florida (Onsite)

About the role:

Exacta Systems is an industry leader that provides robust innovative solutions to gaming entertainment. We are looking for an experienced testing professional, who is passionate about both quality and testing, to join our growing team. This position is responsible for developing and executing test plans and cases on products, to ensure they meet the requisite functional, technical, and regulatory compliance to maintain high overall product quality. This position also requires an individual who can balance their own projects while maintaining the daily QA Team deliverable.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Interface with Product Development and Operations to plan and coordinate the required development testing across systems to ensure critical applications are delivered with no critical defects.
  • Develop, review, and execute test cases for new and existing system functionality.
  • Submit and track issues found during testing and ensure that issues are resolved promptly.
  • Develop complete knowledge of the product to test the functionalities thoroughly.
  • Review project requirements and ensure necessary test environments are established for each assigned project.
  • Constant review, support and develop best QA standards and practices.
  • Responsible for executing an array of testing methodologies including system testing, regression testing, functional testing, integration testing, API testing, etc.
  • Reproduce issues, when necessary, to assist software development in resolving the issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software test methodologies/procedures and the overall product development lifecycle.
  • Interface with the Engineering Department to resolve all reported issues after product release.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with other departments, customers, and third-party vendors.
  • Effective management of test environments and resources to reduce testing bottlenecks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ of relevant software testing work experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with API testing is a plus.
  • Gaming and Pari-mutuel experience a plus
  • Experience with Agile methodologies desired.
  • Experience with MongoDB preferred.
  • Windows server and Linux experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of test methodologies
  • Experience in deriving test plans/cases from system requirements.
