Client Overview: Manufacturer and Wholesale of Women's and Girl's Swimwear.


Position Overview: We’re looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated individual to join our Product Development team for a girl’s private label swim brand.


Product Development Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Communicate daily with overseas suppliers and factories on development progress and general follow-up.
  • Support Product Development Manager in cost negotiations and calendar building
  • Support fabric sourcing and color/print development and maintain organization for development progress and submits.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and industry regulations/standards and engage in opportunities to learn as needs come up
  • Assist Product Development Manager in analyzing risks and quality concerns and conducting development product testing as required/needed.
  • Partner with design on a year-round rolling development to meet design objectives
  • Work closely with technical design to ensure timely fit development and troubleshoot fit concerns that pertain to costing and delivery
  • Partner with Color Specialist on approvals, mill & vendor communication
  • Input product BOMs into the company’s PLM system and manage daily upkeep of updates/changes


Product Development Assistant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in Product Development – Swimwear and/or Kids active/loungewear experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and multi-task
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment
  • Open-mindedness and the willingness to learn and grow. Curiosity
