Manufacturing Quality Technician

ADDMAN Precision, Rochester, MN is seeking a Quality Technician/CMM Programmer experienced in CMM operation to join the Quality Team. This is an exciting position that plays a key role in ensuring production parts meet customer requirements using CMM equipment and software. This person will assist in performing visual and dimension inspections to ensure that all product meets customer specifications and requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Measure key part characteristics with CMM equipment
  • Perform CMM programming, setup, and analysis of both in process and finished products
  • Work with engineering and programming teams to troubleshoot parts
  • Perform first piece production inspection and provide feedback
  • Train others on CMM operation
  • Check and verify machined component dimensions using measuring devices to blueprints
  • Communicate effectively with machinist, operators, and management to maintain acceptable quality standards
  • Maintain and generate all required quality documentation including inspection and discrepancy reports
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or requested


Requirements:

  • 2 year technical degree and/or 2 years shop floor machining
  • 2 years shop Floor machining and /or 6 months Quality Inspection in machine shop environment
  • Able to operate a CMM with minimal supervision. Preferred experience with PC DMIS CMM software
  • Computer skills
  • Innovation thinker, a self-starter, and solid problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of GD&T and general blueprint interpretation
  • Set up inspection process, choose appropriate tools, and inspect parts with no supervision
  • Document findings and develop planning for jobs
  • Instruct other in appropriate methods
