Job Role Summary:

Automated Systems, Inc. is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team at our global pharmaceutical manufacturing client's facility located in Round Lake, IL. This is an entry-level position responsible for assisting senior personnel in troubleshooting mechanical problems, process issues, and identifying improvements in operations to minimize interruptions, maximize utilization, and support new and ongoing projects.

As a member of our client’s team, you will be working with complex, highly automated compounding, filling, and packaging equipment. This is a hands-on role, working in a sterile environment. Spending time with the equipment and working with all levels of the organization will be critical for success. The candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to thrive in a fast-paced cGMP environment. Must not be allergic to Penicillin or Cephalosporin Drugs.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting sterilization equipment and processes to ensure efficient operation and minimal downtime.

• Optimize steam sterilization processes for various applications utilizing clean steam for the purposes of steam in place, and sterilization of filling equipment.

• Assist in the design and implementation of process improvements to enhance product quality, yield, and efficiency.

• Perform process risk assessments.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and quality assurance to support product commercial manufacturing activities.

• Assist with investigations into process deviations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

• Develop process documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols, and other similar GMP documents.

• Provide technical support, oversight, and training to manufacturing personnel to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes.

• Participating in validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of sterilization processes.

• Training and mentoring shop floor employees.

• Comply with site-wide procedures including change control, documentation, deviation reporting, cGMP compliance, safety, and electronic data security.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:



• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent technical degree.

• Communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.

• Can-do attitude and work ethic to take full ownership and proactive measures in managing capital projects.

• Proficiency in Excel / Word / Outlook / Project/ CAD.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good people management, direct or indirect management, skills.

• Good communication skills, proactive, good initiative, and ability to work under pressure.

• Intern experience – preferred.
