Primary Services is actively recruiting for an experienced Network Operations Center Technician to support our client in the telecommunications industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a large-scale Fiber Optic Data Network, interacting with both internal teams and external customers to ensure high-quality performance and troubleshooting efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the Fiber Optic Data Network.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external data customers, providing high-quality support.
  • Efficiently dispatch resources to resolve network issues and ensure timely customer resolution.
  • Compile and analyze splicing reports to ensure network integrity and reliability.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to optimize network performance and reduce downtime.
  • Handle trouble tickets from initiation to resolution, diagnosing and resolving network issues promptly.
  • Monitor network performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Track network outages and maintenance events, providing timely notifications to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Field Operations Department and NetOps to coordinate response efforts and resolve network issues.
  • Generate and distribute system reports, offering insights into network performance for better decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience or technical certification in networking or a related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, teach, and share knowledge within the team.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills for following instructions.
  • Knowledge of network hardware and relevant monitoring software.
  • Familiarity with additional software such as ConnectWise, SNMP, SolarWinds, One Control, and OSP is a plus.
