About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Development to lead its fundraising strategy and oversee a comprehensive development program. Responsibilities include personally cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors; leading annual giving and membership campaigns; and expanding corporate, small business, and foundation support. The role will guide fundraising events, strengthen Board participation, and collaborate with senior leaders and colleagues to align donor communications with organizational priorities. The Vice President will also supervise and mentor development staff, manage the department budget, and build sustainable fundraising practices. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience and at least seven years of progressively responsible nonprofit fundraising experience, including major gifts; three or more years of management experience is important. Success leading development functions, strong relationship-building and communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. Experience with data-informed donor strategies and volunteer boards is valuable, while familiarity with performing arts and CRM or reporting systems is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is also desirable.
