Position Overview:
Join our dynamic production team as a Machinist and play a pivotal role in crafting the components that keep people all around the world safer and more secure. This role offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machinery including CNC/manual machines, lathes, and mill turns. Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup and Operation: Efficiently set up and operate CNC and manual machines according to detailed prints and specifications. This includes working with lathes, 3-5 axis mill turns, and horizontal/vertical mills.
Tooling and Fixture Management: Skilfully select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories on machines to ensure optimal performance.
Machine Adjustments: Perform precise and timely machine changeovers and adjustments on all assigned equipment.
Blueprint Analysis: Interpret blueprints, layouts, and charts to visualize sequences of operations, dimensions, and tooling instructions.
Mathematical Precision: Utilize your mathematical expertise and measuring instruments to accurately calculate dimensions and tolerances.
Quality Control: Identify and address any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, making necessary machine adjustments to correct errors.
Troubleshooting: Effectively troubleshoot and resolve machine setup issues to maintain production efficiency.
Inspection and Measurement: Inspect and measure completed production units to ensure they meet quality standards and identify any defects.
Equipment Restart: Confidently start or restart equipment following power outages or interruptions to minimize downtime.
Safety and 5S: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production area to ensure a secure work environment.
Training and Mentorship: Provide training and support to team members as needed to foster a collaborative and skilled workforce.
Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including kaizen, quality enhancement, and cycle time reduction.
Policy Adherence: Perform all responsibilities in alignment with company standards, policies, and procedures.
Additional Duties: Execute any other tasks as required to support the team and company objectives.
We’re looking for a strong team player with:
High School Diploma or equivalent, with a strong preference for candidates with technical certification, vocational training in machining, or a completed apprenticeship in a related field.
Extensive experience as a Machinist with a demonstrated proficiency in both CNC and manual machining techniques.
Solid ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints.
Expertise in operating and maintaining machining equipment to exacting tolerances and precision.
Basic knowledge of Metallurgy, plus strong analytical and meticulous problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
Self-starter with the capability to work independently under minimal supervision and flexible enough to work overtime as needed.
