ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Summer is Athletx Sports Group’s peak event season. This creates a tremendous opportunity for collegiate interns to learn the sports management business, and gain valuable work experience via our PAID summer internships. Athletx Sports group is seeking interns to bring fresh ideas and innovation, along with an upbeat, positive attitude and strong work ethic in several different designations or areas of interest. Outlined below are the various opportunities that are needed during the event season. 


INTERNSHIP POSITIONS

Team Relations: 

  • Collaborate with event directors to facilitate effective written and verbal communication with tournament participants related to inquiries about event logistics, schedules, and tournament related details.
  • Assist with daily tasks involved in event preparation 
  • Perform customer service functions (answering patron phone calls and emails, communicating with coaches, etc.). 

Accounting and Finance: 

  • Input financial transactions into accounting software
  • Maintain accurate records of expenses, revenues, and other financial activities and reconciling accounts. 
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Processing invoices, verifying payments, and assisting with accounts receivable collections or accounts payable disbursements.

Merchandising:

  • Assist the Director of Merchandising with packing and preparation for events
  • Ability to assist with shipping and receiving 
  • Inventory all items as they return from events and track accordingly
  • Assist with organizing event merchandise (pre-order shirts and fan shop apparel)
  • Prepare all electronic devices for events
  • Travel to events to set up, oversee and execute on-site Fan Shop 
  • Assist with fan shop layout needs and locations by event
  • Ability to work weekends and willing to travel to various locations across the country

Event and Logistics:

  • Prepare and organize event materials and work on event logistics including loading and unloading trailers with event equipment, planning and packing materials
  • Support Event Directors in all aspects of on-site event execution including set-up, tear down, registration, team meetings and all other on-site duties as assigned
  • Assist with sales of event merchandise and spectator admission tickets
  • Ability to work weekends and willing to travel to various locations across the country

Social Media & Marketing:

  • Support the social media director by posting graphics and video content for social and online platforms during the event season
  • Attend and cover summer events, capturing content and posting relevant materials as assigned by the social media team
  • Ability to work weekends and willing to travel to various locations across the country
  • Assist with marketing initiatives and on-site event marketing and promotions.

Graphic Design:

  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite- Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Ability to effectively use all appropriate tools and layer masks within the suite
  • Strong understanding of file requirements for production with raster and vector art
  • Ability to shoot and edit videos and photos at events and convert into creative and relevant content for each brand’s needs.
  • Create graphics and short videos for social media posts and various email and digital campaigns.

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS

  • Weekend work–  On-site execution and management of Athletx events 
  • Weekday office hours 
  • A reliable vehicle
  • Comfort with regional travel
