Job Description

Insight Global is seeking Production Supervisor in Rockford, MN for a night shift position. This position works closely with the Plant Manager & Production Manager to ensure the effective and efficient running of the manufacturing plant. The overarching objective is to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications while ensuring the health and safety of the workforce. The Supervisor will oversee their team, performance and goals. This key leader will oversee production in a manner that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. Working with the plant leadership to strengthen the culture of the employee base and the productivity of the manufacturing operations are key performance attributes that will be required for this position. They are working to build out the team but the current total production staff is 50-60 people. This will be a 12 hour shift on a 2-2-3 schedule.


Must be able to:

  • Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. Makes certain deadlines are met timely, error-free following all standard procedures, product specifications and customer demands.
  • Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors.
  • Provides employees with technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes.
  • Examines work output by checking work orders, inspecting material and measure all pieces before packaging or placing load on trailers.
  • Supervise receipt of all shipments. Ensure that receiving discrepancies and product damages are appropriately reported in writing following standard operating procedures by the end of the shift.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks by hand or with a fork lift.
  • Evaluate complaints received on shipments of materials and take appropriate action.
  • Maintain housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding area.
  • Monitor, follow up and control daily absence, tardiness and over time considerations.

  • Guides, motivates, and disciplines direct reports in accordance with best management practices and company guidelines.


Must Have:

  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have at least five years of plant experience, to include supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Will be required to supervise a work force of a small group, be able to manage day-to-day operations including employee scheduling and work output commitment
  • Lean manufacturing and Continuous improvement
  • Experience with business computer applications (Microsoft Office)
  • Effective communication skills, effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
