This is a fully remote long -term contract for a UNIX/Linux systems Admi.n based out of Brentwood TN

No Corp to Corp, H1B Visa and No Sponsorship- must have proper work authorization- no outside vendors


Summary:

This position requires an experienced professional responsible for the design, configuration, implementation and support of UNIX / Linux operating environments. This is a position requiring technical leadership skills including project coordination, mentoring of associates, and advisor to team members and management.

Essential Functions:

  • as the subject matter expert (SME) for installation, configuration, implementation, and administration of Redhat Linux and AIX.
  • initiatives involving migration of Linux servers to the cloud environment.
  • with the ITS Leadership team to identify, design and implement new processes and procedures as the environment changes.
  • ways to improve customer experiences.
  • and maintain technical documentation.
  • in firmware and OS upgrades for the Linux / AIX infrastructure.
  • 2 Incident Management and resolution of tickets.
  • strategic solutions which enhance the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the core server functions and services as required.
  • 24/7 on call support and basic triage for assigned areas as required.
  • root cause analysis of system failures, and implement corrective actions.
  • application, OS, and hardware performance, and makes recommendations on correcting bottlenecks in systems performance.

Experience:

  • years of experience administrating UNIX / Linux server environment.
  • with automation and scripting.
  • depth, working knowledge of IBM’s Tivoli Manager (ITM).
  • depth, working knowledge of HCL’s BigFix.
  • depth, working knowledge of IBM’s PowerSC
  • knowledge of syslog-ng.
  • knowledge of VMWare.
  • with server migrations from other linux versions (e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.) to Redhat.
