Production Supervisor

The idea candidate will oversee safe and proper manufacturing of manufactured housing. In order to do this, the candidate will troubleshoot issues, ensure the efficient day to day operations of the company, and coordinating a team of production employees to make sure that consistent and quality goods are constantly being produced. 

 

The Production Supervisor is Responsible for the following specific duties.

Manage all hourly workers assigned to their area

Train, coach, and develop team members to perform their jobs and effectively

Assure each team member understands the quality requirement of their job

Assure proper staffing in each assigned area to meet or exceed labor targets

Assure proper staffing for piece rate system to pay each worker a premium wage

Assure attendance policy is administered fairly and equitably to all team members

Assure all team members know their scheduled work for the day

Assure that each team member is trained and understands the DAPIA and code requirements

Planning and Problem Solving

Assure all required drawings and specifications are available before it is needed

Assure DAPIA and Code requirements are being met

Assure Manufacturers Installation instructions are being met and available to team members

Inspect finished products and implement problem solving procedures to eliminate problems

Assure each work area has a trained team member to perform final inspections and sign off

Promote Problem solving to permanently eliminate problems

House Keeping and Safety

Assign specific clean up area and assure daily clean up

Assure all homes are cleaned at each line move

Assure availability of trash receptacles to prevent trash from being thrown on the floor

Train team members to remove bands and wrapping and put them in the trash

Coach and Train team members to follow safety rules and use safe work procedures

Assure that only trained team members operate any type of automated equipment

This would include fork lifts, hoists, saws, hand power tools and any powered equipment

Assure all team members know where to locate MSDS for products they work with

Materials Management

Prepare cut lists and assure best utilization of materials

Assure materials are stored in a manner preventing damage

Make recommendations that will optimize material usage

Use problem solving procedures to eliminate damage and waste

   The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and may be given other assignments as needed.
