Position Summary

The Assistant Interior Designer, under the guidance of the VP of Interior Design, provides high-level support to the Development Team. This role entails collaborating on all aspects of a project, including design concepts, schematic design, drawing development, shop drawings reviews, FF&E research and sourcing, managing Turnberry’s samples library, and preparing presentations as needed. The position involves handling various interior design and management tasks throughout a project’s lifecycle.


Responsibilities:


  • Constantly coordinates and communicates with the Development Team regarding ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Coordinates with the VP of Interior Design to provide support in reviewing and implementing changes to ongoing projects. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing interior drawing sets and FF&E packages from interior design firms that Turnberry liaisons with, as well as in-house projects.
  • Creates proposals and finishes schedules.
  • Prepares creative and cohesive presentations as needed.
  • FF&E research and sourcing.
  • OS&E research and sourcing.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on shop drawings.
  • Reviews and submits purchase orders.
  • Communicates with vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Manages Turnberry’s samples library (Place and track orders, organize samples, replenish stock and/or discard samples as needed).
  • Visits job sites as necessary and travels as required, with advance notice.
  • Coordinates, manages and participates in the final installation of projects.
  • Stays at the forefront of interior design trends through continuous research and analysis.
  • Problem solves creatively and efficiently.
  • Completes assigned administrative tasks in a timely fashion.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture.
  • Proficient in MacOS and Windows.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD. Revit knowledge a plus.
  • Proficient in at least one 3D software (SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, 3D Max, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to read detailed floor plan drawings, construction documents and shop drawings.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English. Spanish a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrates the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects of varying scales.
  • Quick learner.
  • Comfortable working on fast-paced project updates and deliveries.
  • Fine attention to detail.
  • Highly organized.
  • Advanced time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
