Assistant Property Manager/Commercial

We are seeking a motivated and bilingual Assistant Commercial Property Manager with a strong background in commercial retail property management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team and contribute to the management of our commercial properties, primarily focused on retail spaces, in the downtown area.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Commercial Property Manager in the day-to-day operations of assigned commercial properties, with a primary focus on retail spaces.
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance, repairs, and renovations of retail units, ensuring they meet quality standards and tenant requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with tenants to address inquiries, concerns, and lease-related matters, fostering positive tenant relationships.
  • Collaborate with leasing agents to market available retail spaces, conduct property tours, and negotiate lease agreements with prospective tenants.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to assess condition, identify maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with lease agreements and property policies.
  • Assist in financial management tasks, including budget preparation, rent collection, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards related to commercial property management.
  • Provide administrative support to the Commercial Property Manager, including maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and managing correspondence.
  • Act as a liaison between property management, tenants, vendors, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices to make informed decisions and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Property Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial property management, with a focus on retail properties.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/spanish is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of commercial leasing principles, lease negotiations, and tenant relations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
