Chapel Hill, United States Recovery Alliance Initiative Full time

Recovery Alliance Initiative of NC (RAI)

Awareness. Collaboration. Advocacy. Action.

Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director

RAI’s vision is that everyone, regardless of means, will have access to coordinated community resources necessary for healthy, long-term, meaningful substance use and mental health recovery.  RAI supports individuals and organizations from all local disciplines/sectors in working collectively towards enhancing strong and healthy communities that support cohesive seamless systems of care related to prevention of SUD, access to quality care, and sustained meaningful recovery.

RAI has found that this approach is most effective at the local level where “local knows local best”.  Here, RAI works with community leadership and invested community members to assess and celebrate the strengths of current efforts, determine potential gaps in services, and then develop local solutions and strategies to address those gaps.  Where gaps are determined, RAI works with leadership to help procure local, state or national funds to create the missing resources.  Most importantly, RAI and the local community collaborative create a distribution plan so that everyone will have access to the valuable information in their community that will provide help to all who struggle with substance use.

We do this by employing a proven Collective Impact model of community organizing and intentional collaborations towards commonly developed local goals.

*Recovery Alliance Initiative has no specific agenda or belief that any one answer is the “right” answer when considering individual paths to sustained recovery. By bringing together a wide variety of knowledgeable and committed organizations and individuals, we believe we can collectively offer the best resources to move forward.
