A leading Building Automation System's Controls company is looking for top talent in the in the Los Angeles area


The Building Automations Technician will lead the development, installation, and commissioning of database programming and custom graphics for Building Management Systems (BMS) on assigned projects. This role requires expertise in system software, network troubleshooting, and coordination with project teams to ensure successful project completion. The position involves fieldwork, systems testing, third-party integrations, and mentoring junior engineers. Additionally, the role requires project documentation, customer training, and managing project costs, schedules, and safety.


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and program control systems databases for BMS projects.
  • Support system commissioning, point-to-point testing, and troubleshooting of networks.
  • Coordinate with project teams, attend field meetings, and ensure project documentation is accurate.
  • Lead field coordination in the absence of a Project Engineer.
  • Provide customer training and ensure smooth project turnover to the service team.
  • Assist in validating sequences of operations and ensure project costs and schedules are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers and ensure safe work practices are followed.


Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or 2-5 years of experience in building automation systems; Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills; knowledge of MS Office, TCP/IP, and web navigation.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
  • Valid California driver’s license required.
  • Strong communication skills, customer-focused, and quality-driven.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in construction environments while following safety protocols.
