Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Java Backend Developer to join our team and collaborate with multiple teams, particularly Middleware Support, Unix, Database Support, and Migration Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, J2EE concepts, and a good understanding of microservices, devops tools, and application security.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with multiple teams, including Middleware Support, Unix, Database Support, and Migration Teams, to ensure seamless integration and support for backend systems and applications.
  2. Develop and maintain Java backend applications using Java 7 and above, with Java 8 being highly preferable.
  3. Utilize Java Servlet, JSP, Struts, Websphere application Servers, and Tomcat Application Server for backend development.
  4. Implement microservices architecture and utilize devops tools, with preference for Gitlab, for efficient and scalable software development and deployment.
  5. Work with Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring JDBC, and Hikari Connection Pooling to build robust and secure backend applications.
  6. Ensure application security by implementing standards such as OWASP and OAuth2 and integrating security measures into backend systems.
  7. Maintain a good understanding of application infrastructure components such as load balancers, proxies, SSL, TLS, and cipher suites.
  8. Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions to enable seamless and secure access to backend applications.
  9. Utilize SQL and PL SQL, with a preference for Sybase and Oracle, for efficient data retrieval and manipulation in backend systems.
  10. Collaborate on SDLC and Release Control processes, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  11. Contribute to Agile methodology and practices, leveraging knowledge and experience to optimize development processes.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Java Backend Developer, with a focus on backend application development and integration with multiple teams.
  • Strong understanding of Java/J2EE concepts and Java backend application development.
  • Proficiency in microservices architecture, understanding of devops tools, with Gitlab being preferable.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring JDBC, and Hikari Connection Pooling for backend application development.
  • Good understanding of application security standards such as OWASP and OAuth2.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure components and single sign-on implementations.
  • Experience with SQL and PL SQL, with a preference for Sybase and Oracle.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, Release Control, and Agile methodology.
