Job Description

We seek an experienced Embedded Linux Expert for a 6-month contract position to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in configuring, building, and deploying fully customized embedded Linux distributions using tools like Yocto and/or Buildroot. Additionally, C/C++ and embedded Linux programming proficiency is essential for this role.


Salary commensurate with the applicant’s level of relevant experience and qualifications.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.


Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, build and deploy fully customized embedded Linux distributions using Yocto and/or Buildroot.
  • Perform SoC/SoM bring-up for x64-based platforms.
  • Develop and maintain embedded Linux applications and services.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize system performance and ensure hardware/software compatibility.
  • Debug and resolve issues related to embedded Linux systems.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience configuring, building, and deploying fully customized embedded Linux distributions with Yocto (preferred) and/or Buildroot is required.
  • Experience with SoC/SoM bring-up for x64-based platforms.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded Linux programming.


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Linux kernel development and patching.
  • Experience with performance analysis and tracing tools such as perf/ftrace.
  • Experience developing and/or maintaining Linux device drivers (e.g., for camera capture, ISP, GPU, Ethernet, and custom interfaces to other embedded devices).
