Business Data Analyst: Job Overview and Key Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a Business Data Analyst on a contract-to-hire basis to support data management and reporting across its business units. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing data collection systems, with a focus on financial and business performance metrics. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely, with occasional travel required for training, meetings, or other on-site responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective data collection systems, processes, and tools using NetSuite, Infor Visual, Excel, and PowerBI in both retail and manufacturing environments.
  • Develop and maintain both routine and ad-hoc reports, as well as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure data integrity and optimize system functionality within NetSuite and/or Infor Visual.
  • Lead data migration projects, ensuring accuracy and consistency of data.
  • Provide user training and support on NetSuite functionality.
  • Create and manage custom reports, dashboards, and workflows within NetSuite and/or Infor Visual.
  • Identify data from various business units and establish methods for making it accessible and reportable within NetSuite and/or Infor Visual.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and external vendors to ensure smooth data integration and workflow processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within data systems, particularly NetSuite and Infor Visual.
  • Enter, clean, and convert data to achieve data consolidation and reporting objectives.
  • Develop data visualizations and assist in deriving actionable insights from the available data.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to current business intelligence tools, processes, and data analysis techniques.

Qualifications: Required:

  • A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience supporting NetSuite.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Expertise as a NetSuite power user.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Extensive experience with Infor Visual.
  • Solid understanding of SQL.
  • Experience with PowerBI and other reporting platforms (Tableau, Qlik, etc.).
  • Experience with Magento2 and Celigo.
  • Proficiency in building custom and ad-hoc reports within NetSuite, Infor Visual, and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A solid financial background with experience in financial and accounting reporting.
  • Experience in the manufacturing or retail sectors is a plus.
