app. It powers our e-commerce store, subscription e-commerce business, E-Mail marketing business, and warehouse and fulfillment operations. We operate at large scale for a Rails app: we process hundreds of API calls per minute, thousands of e-commerce transactions per day, and send nearly 10 million emails per day.


Our app uses MySQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, and is hosted on AWS. We leverage AWS for email (SES), database (RDS and ElastiCache) and search (OpenSearch).


Our E-Mail targeting engine is built 100% in house and uses ElasticSearch to

target emails. This engine powers our business.


Our subscription management engine is built 100% in house and manages the recurring subscription element of our business, which is core to growth.


Our integration with Facebook ads uses Redis for high performance event

tracking.


All of this is built in a Rails monolith app, which you will work on. You will work in collaboration with the rest of the team to complete all projects within the department in an efficient and timely manner while maintaining quality output standards.


You must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to switch between projects based on current priorities and deadlines set by the team lead. If you are flexible, stress tolerant, and motivated with the ability to work independently and/or in a team setting, you are the perfect person for this position.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Mostly, write Ruby code, including specs
  • Work with our frontend-developers to make API changes needed to improve and support ecommerce shopping flows (item pages, cart,checkout process) and marketing pages
  • Improve our E-Mail marketing process, through things like improving targeting, tracking, etc.
  • Improve our warehouse and fulfillment process by implementing features and capabilities in our Ruby on Rails app reports Rails application to support our customers going projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years experience with Ruby on Rails development, ideally in an e-
  • commerce setting.
  • Experience with AWS and a self-managed Rails environment (nginx,puma/unicorn, Capistrano, etc.)
  • Accurate typing ability (35WPM or more)
  • Proficiency in Macintosh Environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
