Software Quality Engineer - 4 Day Work Week

Hamilton Porter is a boutique technical recruiting firm that partners with a variety of companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500's. Due to growth, one of our top clients in the Las Vegas area is actively looking to hire a full-time Software QA Engineer to join the team. Our client is a leading provider of hardware and software products that are heavily leveraged to enable automated payment/transaction processing in industries such as banking, finance, gaming, kiosk, retail, transportation, and vending.


In this role, you will be looked upon to create, plan, and execute test strategies and frameworks. Work with SQA Engineers and Software Engineers to complete system design review, code reviews, analyze system performance, create test plans, black box testing, functional testing, debug code defects, document the defects and suggest improvements. You will partner closely with Software Engineers to assist in testing new features during the development cycle.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Review technical requirements and specifications to create test plans and test cases
  • Experience building and maintaining test systems
  • Complete functional testing while also being able to perform other types of testing (unit, system, integration, user acceptance, regression, usability and end-to-end testing)
  • Review, test, and debug source code while documenting and reporting bugs/defects in JIRA
  • Collaborate heavily with the software engineering team to test new feature and fix bugs
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging web-based & mobile products


Requirements:

  • 1+ years of software engineering and/or software testing experience with a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • White Box testing experience & functional testing experience is highly desired
  • Experience testing and debugging software technology using C#, HTML, SQL, and JavaScript
  • Experience testing and debugging software using JTAG, Microsoft Visual Studio and/or Google Chrome
  • Ability to read, troubleshoot and debug source code written in C# and C++. Experience with JIRA is a plus
