Our client, a leading provider of comprehensive security solutions, is currently seeking a Service Technician to join their team in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago. This organization is looking to expand its team and needs someone who has worked in the security industry.

Service Technician Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine the security requirements of commercial and residential properties
  • Install, configure and test security systems, including alarm systems, surveillance cameras, access control systems and intercom systems
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with security systems and perform repairs or replacements as needed
  • Program security systems to meet client specifications and integrate them with other components of the security infrastructure
  • Provide training to clients on how to use and maintain their security systems effectively
  • Perform regular maintenance checks and inspections to ensure the ongoing functionality and reliability of security systems
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in security technology and industry trends to make recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure seamless integration of security systems with other IT infrastructure and services
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally


Service Technician Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field or equivalent experience
  • MCSE, ITIL and Cisco certifications preferred
  • Industry knowledge and experience in security is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems
  • Motorola video system certifications are preferred but not required
  • 1+ years of IT experience
