We support a flexible-location work model. You may choose to work from our office in Needham, MA, remotely, or a hybrid that is best for you. We only require in-person attendance at our studio 5 - 7 times per year for 3 - 4 days each time. These sessions, which are all scheduled well in advance, keep us all closely connected and combine working sessions, group discussions, and playful activities.
Position type: Full-time
Work experience: Minimum 5 years as a content strategist, website copywriter, or another similar position. Agency experience is a plus.
Min. education: 4-year undergraduate degree in a related field
Position Summary
We are looking for a curious and intellectually nimble Content Strategist who can discover and articulate strategic directions and also create inspiring and impactful content. The responsibilities of the Content Strategist range from client projects to internal initiatives. Client projects are largely focused on websites but will also include brand identity strategy, marketing materials, reports and publications, and more. Internal projects will include, but may not be limited to, blog posts, social media, and our own website.
Summary of Responsibilities – Client Websites
• Establish key target audience personas.
• Identify website goals and key performance indicators.
• Conduct qualitative content audits of existing websites and other materials
• Collaborate with the UX team to support sitemap and wireframe development.
• Prepare draft content for wireframes and propose page titles
• Facilitate content strategy working sessions with clients.
• Write copy, edit copy, and/or proofread content for select web pages as required.
• Manage content creation workflows – writing, review, approval, and publishing.
• Support SEO optimization - advise clients on keyword strategy and content shaping
• Analyze content performance using web analytics tools and make data-driven recommendations for ongoing content optimization and improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in content development and user experience.
• Develop website writing style guides to help clients maintain consistency in approach, tone, and brand voice.
Summary of Responsibilities – All Other
• Research, write, and edit compelling and informative content for our various digital channels, including website pages, blog posts, articles, and social media posts.
• Actively participate in client brand strategy explorations with brand strategists and help draft compelling messaging to capture the true essence of each brand.
• Lead or support specific phases of brand identity projects like organization, program, or product naming, tagline development, slogans, and more.
• Partner with our design strategists to most effectively wireframe and layout reports, publications, and marketing materials.
• Provide copy writing, copy editing, and proofreading for different client projects as necessary.
Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or another related field.
• Previous work experience as a content creator, website copywriter, or similar role with a compelling portfolio of published writing samples.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to create high-quality, engaging content for online audiences.
• Knowledge of organic SEO principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress and Drupal.
• Familiarity with website User Experience and Accessibility fundamentals
• Robust and thoughtful project management and organizational skills.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
