This product focused position applies knowledge of engineering principles and design practices to create optimized design concepts and mechanical design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, reliability, durability, manufacturing, assembly, and serviceability.

This Product Systems Design Engineer effectively communicates the capability of a design concept to meet cross-functional requirements including assessment of alternative and competitive design concepts, and works effectively across cross-functional disciplines to develop corporate and customer requirements including those required to resolve product issues.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree

Manager is seeking candidates with a minimum of 3-5 years applicable work experience in their backgrounds.

Knowledge of MS Office and CREO tools is preferred.

Familiar with PDM system - preferred Windchill.

Product Systems Design Engineer Responsibilities:

Test fixture design – Obtain design requirements and negotiates with cross-functional teams for designing engine test frames, lab endurance test fixtures and engine test head rigs. Complete the BOM, assemblies and components CAD models and 2D drawings.

2D drawings for CAD models – Complete product assemblies and components drawings with given product CAD models, following best practices, design standards and customer requirements. Setup proper datum systems and apply dimension tolerance, GD&T based on design standards and best practice.

Product design changes – Obtain product design change requirements with cross-functional teams and update the product CAD models and drawings to meet the change requirements.

Tolerance studies – analysis components and assemblies’ dimension tolerance and GD&T at nominal & worst-case condition and check the products global clearance and functions. Tolerance study can be 1 dimension (tolerance linear stack-up) or 2 dimensions study.
