Director of Housekeeping

POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Hotel is seeking a Director of Housekeeping to manage the day-to-day and long-term operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning of the departments. Manage the selection, training, and development of employees with an eye toward maximum employee satisfaction, productivity, and guest satisfaction
- Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. Manage operating expenses to maximize costs while providing excellent guest services
- Coordinate department’s activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction. Bear ultimate responsibility for monitoring consumption and ordering replacement of guest and cleaning supplies
- Oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws
- Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events
- Participate as a team player with all departments
- Provide constructive feedback to all departments
- Be a leader and a role model to all employees
- Experience in a fast-paced environment in which they have shown they can conduct multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Must be Confident, Flexible, Detail oriented, Self-starter, Adapt to change easily, Team player willing to do whatever it takes to meet goals and objectives, Drive for continuous improvement
- Must have exceptional interpersonal, clear verbal, and written communication skills.
- Candidate must have attention to detail, be able to multi-task, possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have experience handling customer service issues, and be a team player
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree preferred, (3-5) years related experience
- Luxury hotel experience required
REQUIREMENTS
- Read and interpret documents in English such as periodicals, journals and manuals
- Able to write for various channels, routine reports, correspondence, business letters, and summaries using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style
- Ability to speak effectively before groups such as business partners, clients or employees
- Apply common sense understanding to business and social situations and in carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Able to apply mathematical skills to interpret financial information and to prepare reports and budgets
- Read and interpret business records and statistical reports
- Make business decisions based on reports and facts, as well as on experience and personal insight
- Must have sufficient computer skills that allows the individual to be able to use, in a proficient manner, all issued software programs including but not limited to: Excel, Opera, Nuvola, SharePoint and Microsoft Office
