3 Axis Vertical CNC Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 3 Axis Vertical CNC Machine Operator to join our clients plastic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality plastic components. You will ensure machines run efficiently, maintain quality standards, and follow safety protocols.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Duration: 3-month temporary position
Pay Rate: $27/hr
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup and Operation:
- Set up and operate 3 Axis Vertical CNC machines (Fanuc/Yasnac) according to production specifications.
- Load raw plastic materials and select appropriate tools and fixtures.
- Perform machine calibration, adjustments, and testing before production.
Programming and Troubleshooting:
- Program CNC machines using G-code or related programming languages.
- Adjust machine settings for optimal performance and efficiency.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machine errors or malfunctions.
Quality Assurance:
- Monitor machine operations to ensure consistent quality output.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Maintain detailed records of production runs and inspection results.
Maintenance and Safety:
- Conduct routine machine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubrication.
- Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator, preferably in a plastic manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and understanding of G-code.
- Knowledge of plastic materials and machining properties.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools and quality assurance processes.
- Basic math skills and understanding of geometric tolerances.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC operation is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC machine operation, preferably in plastic manufacturing.
Work Environment:
- Work in a production facility with exposure to noise, heat, and plastic materials.
- Standing, bending, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
