Your Job Purpose:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Construction Manager to oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) equipment within data center environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical and mechanical disciplines, with a focus on data center infrastructure. This role requires the ability to work effectively in live spaces and manage retrofit projects seamlessly while maintaining excellent cross-functional relationships.


Your Job Description:

  • Project Management: Coordinate and oversee all aspects of construction projects related to MEP equipment, power distributions, data center cooling systems, and HVAC systems. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize expert knowledge in electrical and mechanical disciplines to troubleshoot issues, provide technical guidance, and optimize system performance. Act as a subject matter expert in data center infrastructure.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of contractors, technicians, and subcontractors to execute construction projects efficiently and effectively. Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including engineering teams, facility managers, and vendors, to coordinate project requirements and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during construction.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel involved in construction activities. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, change orders, and as-built drawings. Generate comprehensive progress reports and communicate project status updates to stakeholders regularly.

Job Requirements:

  • Journeyman level experience or a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, preferably with a focus on data center construction.
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical disciplines related to data center infrastructure.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
  • Flexibility to work in live spaces and adapt to changing project requirements.
