Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Developer with expertise in Pega and Java to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing counsel and advice to top management on significant application development matters, often requiring coordination across various organizations. The ideal candidate will act as the principal designer for complex major systems and their subsystems, utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Counsel and Advice: Provide expert counsel and advice to top management on significant application development matters, coordinating efforts across different organizations.
  • Principal Designer: Act as the principal designer for complex major systems and their subsystems, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.
  • Technical Consultation: Offer comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level on all phases of application programming and processes for diverse development platforms and computing environments (e.g., host-based, distributed systems, client-server, software, hardware, technologies, and tools).
  • Solution Identification: Collaborate closely with client and IT management and staff to identify application development solutions, including new or modified programs, reuse of existing code through program development software alternatives, or integration of purchased solutions, or a combination of the available alternatives.
  • Research and Evaluation: Research and evaluate alternative solutions, recommending the most efficient and cost-effective application programming solutions.
  • Coding and Integration: Code new or modified programs, reuse existing code through program development software alternatives, and/or integrate purchased solutions.
  • Documentation and Testing: Document, test, implement, and provide ongoing support for the applications.
  • Thought Leadership: Focus on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines, being recognized internally as the "go-to person" for the most complex application development assignments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in application development, with a strong emphasis on Pega and Java.
  • Proven ability to provide counsel and advice to top management on significant application development matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of diverse development platforms and computing environments (host-based, distributed systems, client-server, software, hardware, technologies, and tools).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with client and IT management and staff.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Pega and Java.
  • Experience with program development software alternatives and integration of purchased solutions.
