Optomi, in partnership with a leading retail company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Business Analyst to join their team in Ann Arbor, MI As a Technical Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in collecting, documenting, and maintaining requirements for development efforts, ensuring adherence to corporate software development methodologies, and facilitating collaboration across technical resources throughout the software development lifecycle.

Experience of the Right Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, business management/administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in large-scale system implementation efforts following standard software development lifecycle approaches.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with proven facilitation abilities in gathering inputs from cross-functional groups.
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite (Jira & Confluence) and familiarity with technologies such as HTML5, Java, .NET, and SQL Server are highly desirable.
  • Experience with Atlassian tool suite, Microsoft Office, and key technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Kanban methodologies.
  • Certified Scrum Master and/or Product Owner.
  • Experience with wireframing using Balsamiq.
  • Process improvement and eCommerce experience.


Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

  • Lead the development of requirements documentation and related specifications using user stories, decomposing, refining, and documenting requirements using appropriate techniques.
  • Collaborate with business customers to define project scope, document risks and assumptions, develop delivery approaches, and estimate costs.
  • Own and manage the backlog, ensuring it is groomed, prioritized, and current.
  • Participate in system design workshops, research existing processes, and develop enhancement strategies.
  • Facilitate communication between project customers and development teams, translating technical speak to business requirements and vice versa.
  • Coordinate project activities with Technical Delivery Managers, including daily standups, sprint planning, and release monitoring.
  • Create documentation for support teams and facilitate knowledge transfer from Development Teams.
  • Coordinate and perform tests for modified and new processes/systems and assist in writing user training manuals and help files.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
