Outland Technology, a well-known company focused in Underwater Robotics and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) design is seeking a talented and self-motivated Electrical Engineer. This exciting job opportunity involves extensive involvement in R&D and new product development. Offices are in Slidell Louisiana on the beautiful Northshore near New Orleans, LA.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate/modify current design for manufacturability
  • Develop and implement new product design
  • Design analog and digital circuitry
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design processes, budgets, and deadlines
  • Create detailed electrical schematics
  • Source materials for design specifications
  • Troubleshoot/debug new and existing hardware
  • Test, verify, and validate designs
  • Provide ongoing support to Production on design changes
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation, archives, and reports

Requirements:

  • Experience in PCB design
  • Experience working with microprocessors
  • Knowledge of communications protocols (SPI, I2C, UART)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related degrees.
  • Experience with standard lab equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics

Desired:

  • Experience in Altium
  • Experience in Eagle
  • Proficiency in soldering
  • Clear and concise documentation practices
  • Experience in C and/or C++
