Description of Position

The Accountant/Office Manager will be working with the CEO of the company and is responsible for top level general accounting work. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus 3+ years’ related experience. Works under general direction and management and uses independent judgment, performs advanced and specialized accounting assignments, involving complex and/or confidential data. Analyzes information, generates reports, statements and makes recommendations. Must be organized, have an ability with analyzing numbers and keep inventory records. Knowledge of brewery regulations and working with local, state and federal agencies is a big plus.


Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned based on business needs)

Accounting

  • Manage accounts receivable and payables
  • Keep track and verify invoices and PO’s
  • Create and maintain receiving and shipping policies and procedures for all raw materials, brewery products, marketing materials and POS
  • Develop and maintain weekly and monthly reporting for Management, containing information on when supplier invoices have been paid, tracking of expenses/costs and cash flow
  • Administration of insurances, contracts and other similar administrative needs
  • Monthly and annual filings with the appropriate State and Federal agencies
  • Administration of primary databases
  • Monthly reconciliation of accounts, coordinate reimbursements and petty cash
  • Revenue and Cost Analysis
  • Successful implementation and maintain accuracy of brewery software, QuickBooks and back-of-house administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by CEO or owners

 

Office Administration

  • Serve as first point of contact for all visitors and phone calls
  • Make logistical arrangements for travel, meetings and larger events for senior management and staff as requested
  • File and Keep records of appropriate business licenses and permits
  • Record minutes and prepare action minutes when needed
  • Communicate with landlord, utilities, fire department, and other vendors as needed
  • Administration of human resources functions (for a small office) such as collecting time sheets, running payroll, generate 1099s and W-2’s
  • Provide other administrative support to organization staff as needed


Preferred Attributes

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
  • A passion for beer making and beer culture
  • Ability to operate calculator, MSOffice365, Mac computer and general office equipment
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll, accounting transactions and tax returns
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge in computerized accounting and experience in Quickbooks is a must as well as MS Excel
  • Ability to multitask with ease and professionalism
  • Effective time management, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent people skills; outgoing and enthusiastic
  • Ideal candidate must demonstrate responsiveness, tact, diplomacy, good judgment and confidentiality with all levels of staff, owners and customers

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience of responsible accounting and/or bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger and financial reports
  • Notary Public preferred

 

Working Environment:

The work environment requires frequent and regular computer and phone use.

This position is part of our Leadership Team and reports to and works with the CEO of the The Tank Brewing Company.
